Randy and I met in Tucson, Arizona, in 2000. I had just arrived in town when our dear friends, Mike and John, hosted a party. That night, amid laughter and new introductions, I met Randy—and our journey together began.
Our love grew steadily, and in 2001, we took the next step and moved in together. Randy’s apartment near Ventana Canyon became the place where we truly started building our life as a couple. We explored Arizona through countless road trips, filling Randy’s Isuzu Rodeo with my opera singing while he patiently taught me to appreciate the unmistakable sound of AC/DC. Those adventures were incredible moments that strengthened our bond.
As our love deepened, we bought our first home near downtown, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. It was then that we welcomed our first pet, a beautiful cat named Betty. Both of us worked at Tucson Medical Center, forging friendships and cherishing the life we were creating. But our love for adventure never faded. San Diego became a favorite getaway, and with each visit, we fell more in love with the city by the bay, knowing that one day we would call it home.
Our journey then led us to northeast Tucson, near Sabino Canyon, where we purchased a larger home. It became a space filled with love, hosting family gatherings, birthday celebrations, and bridal showers. We created lasting memories with our sisters Cathy, Maryellen, and Christy; our nieces Faith, Caitlyn, and Jennifer; our cousin Lauren; and cozy movie nights with the Cordero women.
But the world was calling, and we answered. Our love for travel took us across the ocean, with Italy marking our first European adventure as a couple. We were captivated by its beauty, history, and romance, knowing this was only the beginning. As often as possible, we returned to Europe, eager to embrace new experiences and cultures together.
Then, our dream became a reality—San Diego was calling us home. With excitement in our hearts, we made the move, settling into our first apartment in the vibrant North Park neighborhood. It was everything we had hoped for—a new chapter filled with promise and possibility.
And now, our greatest milestone has arrived. On November 18, 2024, Randy and I were married. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, we raised a glass to the incredible journey that brought us here. It is a love story we treasure, and a life that continues to unfold, one adventure at a time. We can’t wait to celebrate our love and adventures with all of you.
